Live. Sydney Airport.
The lines are full of people loading bikes onto the Oversized Luggage conveyer belt. There are two major cycling events in Australia this weekend - the Great Ocean Road Race in Victoria and the Margaret River 8 Day Ride in Western Australia. I am off to the Great Ocean Road Race in Victoria, and am waiting at the airport now. Its only a 1 hour flight from Sydney to Melbourne which means that I will arrive and be ready to make my way out to Torquay, which is about 2 hours from the airport.
I signed up to do the 145km one day ride back in the day when i wasnt moving to Singapore, and had so much time to train - two times a day in fact. Now, with everything going on, training has been poor.
I just pray that i established enough base fitness to get me through the 6-7 hour race!
